The deposit is $300 and is non-refundable. Apply first and wait for approval and your identified payment instructions. Approval and instructions do not hold a puppy; only verified receipt confirms the reservation. Read the complete deposit and transfer policy.

The general waiting list is free and connects you with relevant future-litter updates. It does not reserve a puppy or guarantee a specific position. Use our existing Puppy Application & Waiting List to tell us what you are looking for.

Yes, subject to availability. For planned litters, selections are made at approximately two weeks by video call, in deposit order. See Bringing Home a Puppy for the full sequence.

We offer individually arranged transport options and do not ship puppies as unattended cargo. See delivery and transportation details.

Your puppy goes home with their paperwork, a vet check document and transition essentials. See the complete puppy pack. Breeding rights are considered separately for approved homes and are not offered with every puppy.

Our breeding dogs receive genetic health and trait testing to help us make thoughtful, informed pairing decisions. We review each dog's results individually and consider the genetics of both parents when planning a litter, with the goal of producing healthy puppies while preserving the qualities we value in our Poodles.

Every Velvet Bear Poodle puppy is backed by a written one-year congenital and genetic health guarantee. The guarantee is designed to provide protection in the event a puppy is diagnosed with a serious congenital or hereditary condition covered under our agreement. Specific requirements, exclusions, and remedies are outlined in the puppy purchase contract so families can review and understand the coverage before bringing their puppy home.

We encourage every family to have their puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of going home.

Toy and Miniature Poodles are known for their longevity, with many living well into their teens. Genetics, nutrition, preventive veterinary care, exercise, and overall lifestyle all play an important role in lifelong health.

Poodles can make wonderful family companions and often do very well with children and other pets when appropriately introduced and supervised. Because Toy Poodles are especially small, we recommend extra care around very young children to prevent accidental injury. We're happy to help families decide whether a Toy or Miniature is the better fit for their household.

Poodles have continuously growing coats that require regular maintenance. Most families plan professional grooming approximately every 4–6 weeks, along with routine brushing and combing at home to help prevent mats. We also begin introducing our puppies to grooming and handling before they go home.

Poodles are highly intelligent, people-oriented dogs that generally respond very well to positive, consistent training. We recommend beginning with simple routines, boundaries, crate training, and potty training from the start. The work you put in during those early months helps build the foundation for a confident, well-mannered companion.

Visits are by appointment and depend on puppy age and health considerations. Photos, videos and video calls are also available. Request a Visit or Video Call and review our visitor guidance.

Most Velvet Bear Poodle puppies are placed with Limited AKC registration as family companions. Breeding rights may be available for an additional cost to approved homes and are considered individually. They are not offered with every puppy.

We understand that circumstances can change. If at any point you are no longer able to care for your Velvet Bear Poodle, we ask that you contact us first. We will work with you to help determine the best and safest next step for the dog. Our commitment to the puppies we produce extends beyond go-home day. Return or rehoming assistance does not include a refund of the purchase price, deposit, or other payments.
